Mausam Weather ("the app") is built to give you accurate, localized weather with as little personal data as possible.
With your permission, the app uses your device location to show weather, air quality and alerts for where you are. Location is used on-device and to request weather data for your coordinates. It is never sold and never used for advertising.
You may sign in with Google or Apple to back up your preferences. When you do, we store your profile choices (units, saved cities, weather interests, optional demographic answers) with your account in Google Firebase (Firestore). You can use the entire app without an account.
If you enable push notifications, an anonymous device token is registered with Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can deliver weather warnings for the places and topics you choose. Turn notifications off at any time in the app or in system settings.
When severe weather is expected, forecast data for your selected city (never your identity) is processed by our servers to generate a plain-language weather bulletin.
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand aggregate app usage (crashes, screens used). This data is not used to identify you.
Mausam Weather stores your cloud profile only if you signed in with Google or Apple. To request deletion of your account and all associated data (profile choices, saved cities, push subscriptions):
We will delete your Firestore profile record (age group, city, weather interests, push subscription topics) and revoke any FCM push tokens within 30 days. If you never created an account, simply deleting the app removes all local data immediately — no request is needed.
