- Location is used only in your browser. If you use Prayer Times or the Qibla compass, your location is used locally to calculate times and direction and is not stored by us.
Information we handle
Preferences stored on your device
We use your browser's local storage to remember your choices (interface language, light/dark theme, preferred Quran reciter, last-read position, tasbih counts, and similar). This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings.
Location (only if you ask for it)
The Prayer Times and Qibla features ask your browser for your location so we can calculate accurate prayer times and the direction of the Kaaba. This happens with your permission and is processed in your browser. We do not collect, log, or store your coordinates on our servers. To find the timing and place name, your browser may send your coordinates directly to the prayer-time and geocoding services listed below.
Server logs
Like most websites, our web server may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running reliably. These logs are not used to build advertising profiles.
Third-party services
To provide Quran text and audio, Hadith, and prayer times, your browser fetches data directly from trusted public services. When it does, your device communicates with these providers, and their own privacy practices apply:
- AlQuran Cloud and islamic.network — Quran text and audio recitation.
- fawazahmed0 Hadith API (served via a public CDN) — Hadith collections.
- Aladhan API — prayer times, and reverse geocoding of your location into a place name.
We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their content or privacy policies. Fonts and other assets are hosted on our own server, so no external font or analytics providers are involved.
Cookies
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Any storage we use is limited to the on-device preferences described above.
Installable app (PWA) & offline use
You can add this site to your home screen. A service worker caches pages, fonts and some responses on your device so the site works offline. This cache lives only on your device and can be cleared by uninstalling the app or clearing your browser data.
Children's privacy
This site is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your choices
- Decline the location permission request — the rest of the site works normally without it.
- Clear your saved preferences and offline cache from your browser or device settings at any time.
